Sindh Governor Dr Ishrat-ul-Ibad visited the various areas of the city on Sunday and Monday to see the arrangements made for peaceful observance of Muharram-ul-Haram.
The Governor reviewed arrangements made along the procession routes and discussed security measures and provision of required facilities.
He lauded the arrangements by various scout organisations for mourning processions.
He directed the ministers and other elected representatives to monitor security arrangements in their respective areas and districts and use their powers and influence to ensure a peaceful atmosphere.
Ibad expressed the hope that the mourning days of Muharram would pass off peacefully.
He also appealed to masses to keep a close eye on miscreants and those spreading hatred on sectarian and other grounds.
He directed the administration to ensure measures for providing facilities to mourners for observing their rituals during Muharram.
During the visit the Governor drove through various roads and streets and also visited Imambargahs and reviewed the cleanliness situation.
He met office bearers of management of Imambargah as well as mourners and had an appraisal from them about arrangements. He also inquired if they had any special requirements.
The management of Imambargahs expressed satisfaction over the arrangements and showed delight that governor personally came for a visit and meetings with them.
He assured the people that the government would provide every facility and security for the sacred occasion.
